Oggles Hedgehog Rescue,
Dewsbury

Oggles Hedgehog Rescue and Rehabilitation Centre is a not-for-profit rescue centre based in Dewsbury, West Yorkshire. Oggles provides a rescue, treatment and rehabilitation service for orphaned, sick and injured hedgehogs 24 hours a day – 7 days a week.

Oggles was founded in October 2010 by Vicky Greenwood who has rescued, treated, rehabilitated and released hundreds of hedgehogs since it opened. Oggles are totally self-funding and are committed to provide the nutrition, care, veterinary treatment and medication needed to treat and rehabilitate sick, injured and orphaned hedgehogs.

‘Oggles Hedgehog Rescue & Rehabilitation Centre took delivery of a brand new TLC-50 Advance incubator in June, very generously donated by an anonymous supporter.

'I have run the rescue with my partner Steve for seven years, and we previously managed with an old second-hand incubator - the provision of a new one, has completely transformed the work that we undertake. It's big & roomy enough to accommodate hoglets comfortably and is extremely easy to clean. It has great steady temperatures, which is essential to the safe care of hedgehog admissions. This was a major problem with the old one fluctuating in temperature but now we can relax knowing that the new incubator is keeping temperatures spot on. It has been an absolute godsend as there has been a huge influx of hoglets into the rescue in the last two months and we desperately needed space for them, as many were so poorly. The incubator is just perfect and I have no idea how we ever managed without it now.

The rescue would like to say a huge thank you to the amazing donor and to Brinsea for their very efficient ordering and delivery of a wonderful life-saving product.

Hedgehugs!'
